The first step on the path to mastery of a craft

Apprenticeship can never start too soon, as the path to mastery of a trade is long and purposeful.  In our modern world, there has been a pull away from the trades. Our handicraft and access to the knowledge of how to shape our physical world are becoming more remote.  Through partnerships with our company, Instinct Builders, approved participants will be brought into the active world of the built environment.  Carefully paired with our trained staff to help explore and understand how materials come together to create shelter.

This is an opportunity for youth ages 10-18 to be presented with early exposure to the trades and the beautiful art of working with your hands.  Craftsmanship, engineering, mechanics, safety, drafting, situational awareness, efficiency, and communication are all topics that transcend the day-to-day of a task and become opportunities for bringing these lessons into all areas of life.

Participants will apply and be placed on a jobsite with a dedicated mentor who will tailor the environment to their comfort level, stated interests, and outcomes. Meet 1x per week from 12-4pm for a 6-week commitment.

Early apprenticeship is insured and carried through Instinct School. Site mentors are of the Instinct School. All tools and PPE are provided.  Closed-toe shoes and appropriate work wear are the participant’s responsibility.
